Conflict Resolution and Negotiation Training in Burtinle

Puntland Non-State Actors Association-PUNSAA recently organized a two-day conflict resolution and negotiation training on the 27th to 28th of February 2024. The training took place at the PeacevHotel in Burtinle and was attended by fifty (50) participants from various Civil Society Organizations, including youth organizations, women’s groups, traditional elders, religious groups, academicians, and representatives from local authorities in Burtinle district such as members of local councils, courts, and police departments. The primary goal of the training was to provide participants with the necessary skills in conflict resolution, negotiation techniques, and effective communication. The focus was on conflict prevention and resolution in order to minimize disputes and promote peaceful dialogue among stakeholders.

PUNSAA Elects Mohamed Nur Abdi as Deputy Chairman

During the scheduled meeting of the PUNSAA Board of Directors on February 24th and 25th in Garowe, Mohamed Nur Abdi was elected as the Deputy Chairman of Civil Society Organizations in Puntland. Following this, Mr. Mursal Mohamud Abdi, the former Deputy Chairman, assumed office as a member of the Puntland Parliament in early January. Subsequently, a brief ceremony took place at the PUNSAA General Office in Garowe, where both officials were sworn in.
